Resource Manager

The Resource Manager is responsible for resourcing and managing the workflow within the agency resource management tool. With an eye toward overall department capacity and efficient workstreams, the Resource Manager will match the right talent with the appropriate level of staffing needed to ensure projects and ongoing client work remain on course with the highest-quality output. The Resource Manager should be organized and have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies, concepts, and file delivery. This individual serves as the liaison between disciplines and the Project Management team, to ensure coverage for incoming requests and balanced workloads of agency personnel. The Resource Manager also works directly with the Creative department to determine appropriate outside resources and impending staffing needs based on an aggregate understanding of client/project requirements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain constant knowledge of current and upcoming projects as they relate to resourcing and capacity management
  • Be a point-of-contact for internal and external resourcing needs in support of agency and client goals
  • Attend Project Management meetings and facilitate resolution of resourcing issues/conflicts with Project Management team and other relevant personnel
  • Manage resourcing forecast reports for the discipline teams based on input from regularly scheduled meetings and the Project Management team
  • Understand discipline personnel skill sets to better match talent with work assignments to foster exceptional execution and timely delivery
  • Work with discipline leads, Project Managers, and other brand team personnel to identify appropriate resource requirements for each account and project
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the discipline leads and Project Managers to discuss all active work and new business to stay informed of workload and potential issues
  • Receive, analyze, and report on utilization with VP of Operations
  • Assist and work with Creative department to identify freelance and contract resources that meet agency quality standards
  • Help manage utilization of department/brand teams working to resolve under or over allocations of current staff members
  • Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the entire project life cycle from briefing to final asset delivery
  • Shape resource management tools, systems, and templates – constantly striving to improve processes and workflow standardization

What We’re Looking For:


  • 6+ years of experience in a creative ad agency environment
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience

Specific skills, knowledge and abilities required and/or preferred:

  • Proficiency with project management and productivity software
  • Understanding of agency disciplines and skillsets
  • Knowledge of digital and traditional marketing strategies and workflow
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to listen, prioritize, and organize while being mindful of details and schedules
  • Ability to assess needs and match resources for clients and projects for creative excellence and smooth and efficient workflow
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, coherent, and diplomatic manner      
  • Ability to work for effective outcome for client, team, and agency, assisting the project management and creative team with resource management
