LGA named 2017 Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business

Charlotte’s fundraising leaders have recognized Luquire George Andrews for support of nonprofit organizations across the region, naming the agency as the 2017 Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business.

As part of National Philanthropy Day, the Charlotte Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals bestowed the award along with nine other organizations and individuals in a variety of categories for their financial support and charitable work.

“We are privileged and humbled to be recognized with this group of wonderful honorees,” said Peggy Brookhouse, president and partner at LGA. “Since Steve Luquire co-founded LGA more than 30 years ago, he has always made philanthropy a priority, and the inspiration we have gained from working with so many amazing nonprofit organizations has made us a stronger, more purposeful company.”

Last year, LGA donated more than $700,000 in pro bono staff time to advance a variety of campaigns and causes. Employees also serve on the boards of numerous nonprofits, providing strategic guidance, support and services.

Among LGA’s recent affiliations are the American Heart Association, Arts & Sciences Council, Charlotte Will, Good Fellows, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Levine Museum of the New South, Project Life Movement, Ruth G. Shaw Scholars, The First Tee, Teach for America, United Way of Central Carolinas and Urban Ministry Center.

“I’m not sure what we’d do without the support we get from LGA,” said Kathryn Hill, president and CEO of Levine Museum of the New South. “The museum has a small and talented staff, and we love collaborating with the agency and benefitting from their strategic and creative thinking.”

In addition, LGA’s signature philanthropic effort is Goodstock, the agency’s annual 24-hour marketing marathon during which a group of nonprofit’s selected through an RFP process, receive pro bono marketing and communications services to help raise their visibility in the community. During Goodstock, the entire LGA staff works 24 hours straight to generate ideas and produce various marketing materials in time for the big reveal the next day. To date, 38 nonprofits have participated at an estimated value of more than $5 million in expertise that enhances the community.
