Count On Me NC unites reopening businesses, customers

There’s no question consumers and businesses alike are facing new anxieties in our new normal. Balancing the risk of physical illness with that of economic vitality is no easy task, but a coalition of organizations in North Carolina has created a new initiative that leans into education and mutual responsibility to restore confidence on all levels as society begins to reopen across the state. 

At the heart of “Count On Me NC” is a two-way pledge between businesses and consumers to take steps to protect one another from spreading the coronavirus. Another key is a series of online training modules created by public health officials and food safety experts, such as Dr. Ben Chapman of North Carolina State University, for businesses to become certified on best practices to protect their customers while reigniting their business. 

Featured during North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper‘s press briefing on May 22, the effort was developed by the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association in partnership with the NC Department of Health and Human Services, NC State Extension and longtime LGA client Visit North Carolina with an initial focus on the restaurant and lodging industry. However, the initiative has been expanded to encompass all industries as the state moves through its phases to fully reopen.  

LGA developed the branding and various communications elements, including materials promoting Count On Me NC certification and the CountOnMeNC.org website that is the hub of the program. Take a look and plug into the initiative today so we can count on you!
