Mateo Wellman promoted to vice president / digital director

LGA has named longtime digital expert Mateo Wellman vice president / digital director.

Since joining LGA in May 2006 as a digital designer / developer, Mateo has helped grow the agency’s digital offerings and department from one employee to a team of digital designers, developers and a project manager. He was named digital director in May 2015. In addition to client responsibilities, Mateo helps guide the agency team by hosting training and information sessions on ever-evolving digital trends and technology topics.

“Mateo has been a key contributor to the evolution and growth of digital services at LGA for the past 11 years,” said Steve Dunkley, chief creative officer. “His expertise in design and front-end development, partnered with his inspired thinking, make him an important part of our agency.”

Mateo has more than 15 years of digital experience. Prior to joining LGA, he founded New Media Boutique, an online company that assists in web design, interactive development, online strategy and online branding. He has also held graphic and new media designer positions at companies such as Carter Cosgrove + Company and Brunner.

“Mateo is a good example of how LGA empowers team members to grow and contribute to our business and our clients work,” Steve added. “We’re proud of all we’ve accomplished with him as part of our team for the past decade and looking forward to the successes to come.”

Mateo graduated from Full Sail University in Orlando, Fla., in 2004. He is an active parishioner at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church and plays team ice hockey in a top-tier Charlotte adult league. He and his wife, Kathleen, have three children: Liam, Lilly and Landon.
